Is your athlete ready for the Snowbasin Ski Team?
Saturday, March 29, 2025
SkillsQuest is a training/evaluation system that helps develop solid fundamentals to create great skiers. It can also be used for fitness, race development or as an assessment tool to measure an athlete's skiing skills. It provides a more objective-based measurement of skills, which can be tracked over time. Mikaela Shiffrin is a SkillsQuest athlete.
SkillsQuest is comprised of a progressive set of drills covering each of the major fundamental skills of skiing such as balance, edging, rotary, and pressure (B.E.R.P.) that are appropriate based on age and experience in the sport.

We will assign each registered athlete a bib # and one of our Devo coaches who will supervise them throughout the process. The athlete to coach ratio is typically 6 to 1. If you feel like your athlete needs more help or supervision than this, please look to the resort ski and ride programs that have a lower athlete to coach ratio for next year
REQUIRED ATHLETE PRIOR EXPERIENCE:
Participants must be comfortable skiing green and blue terrain off of Wildcat Express Chairlift prior to starting the Devo program.
Be able to manage their own equipment both on and off the hill.
Must be able to load and unload the chairlift independently or ask for assistance from the lift attendant.
The Skills will be assessed off of the Becker Chairlift on the BLUE Willow run. The run is a little steep at the top. The skills will be assessed towards the bottom of the run, but still need to be manageable by the athlete on a blue run. Resort Trail Map
RECOMMENDATIONS:
If you know of a child's friend or classmate that has shown an interest in joining our Ski Team Family, please let them know that they need to register for this event. If you have another child in your family that has not yet joined the ski team, we would love to have you register them so we can get a firm grasp of their current skill level.
Note: Current Devo athletes were SkillsQuest assessed on Saturday, January 18th or Sunday, January 19th. There is no need for our current Devo athletes to register for this event
