FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Experienced ski program administrator and coach joins SSEF leadership team effective July 1, 2026
OGDEN, Utah — The Snowbasin Sports Education Foundation (SSEF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Sara Beeken as Director of Operations, effective July 1, 2025. Beeken brings a depth of experience in competitive ski program management, coach development, and team administration that makes her an exceptional addition to the SSEF leadership team.
Sara Beeken’s career in ski sports spans more than a decade and reflects a lifelong passion for the mountain community. A native of North Carolina, Beeken grew up racing USSA with the Beech Mountain team and went on to earn a degree in Recreation Management from Appalachian State University, where she competed on the App State Ski Team.
Her professional journey began on a national stage. Following graduation, Beeken served as an intern for the 2015 World Alpine Ski Championships in Vail, Colorado — one of the premier events in international alpine competition. She then returned to her roots at Beech Mountain, where she built and led the Beech Mountain Academy, progressing from Head Coach to Program Director.
Beeken expanded her experience on the West Coast at the Heavenly Competition Team in South Lake Tahoe, California, where she served as both a U12 Head Coach and Team Administrative Lead — a dual role that sharpened her skills in athlete development and program operations simultaneously.
“Sara loves the sense of community that comes with skiing and always promotes fun and teamwork with her athletes. She believes that by encouraging adventure and pushing limits, kids not only learn to evaluate and manage risks, but learn about themselves and build a greater sense of confidence and self-worth.”

Beeken’s appointment to Director of Operations reflects SSEF’s continued investment in professional leadership that supports all three programs — Alpine, Freeride, and Devo — and advances the Foundation’s mission to create pathways for the youth of Utah to reach their full potential as athletes, students, and community members.
“Sara brings exactly the combination of competitive ski program experience and operational expertise that the Director of Operations role demands,” said Troy Price, SSEF Executive Director. “We are thrilled to welcome her and excited to help her develop her career here at Snowbasin.”
Beeken currently resides in Longmont, Colorado and will relocate to the Ogden area ahead of her July 1st start date.
